A Ray of Sapphire and Gold
Book 1 of The Lost Archeia series.
In many religions and cultures, angels appear numerous times. Some are helpful, some are not. But all of them have wings!
That’s not the important part.
In biblical texts, there are seven archangels, which is the concept I loosely pull from for inspiration. The main seven are led by Michael. Lucifer began as the second-in-command to Michael, but was exiled to Earth in the ancient days when gods, goddesses, angels, and humans lived in harmony on Earth. In the Lost Archeia series, there are seven Archeia. A Ray of Sapphire and Gold is Faith’s story, but we begin almost at the end. Jupiter, the king of the gods, has swept the other gods and goddesses to Varathiel, the realm in which they live, and sealed it off from earth. Lucifer has captured each of the seven Archeia, erasing the memories that any such being exists.
But…
What he didn’t expect was that the most recent reincarnation of Faith is a human named Juliana Hamilton. And her guardian angel has kept her hidden from Lucifer much better than any of her previous guardians.
On top of that, Lucifer has learned that Faith is the key unlocking the portals Jupiter sealed off from Varathiel.
Juliana has no clue that there is an entire world she is the key to. Little does she know, Moriah, her best friend, is also her guardian angel, and knows everything. Juliana thinks of herself as just an ordinary woman in the modern world, longing to be part of something bigger than she is. When her life is threatened more than once, she goes in search of answers, only to be faced with more questions.
Enter Kieran Burke. Unbeknownst to Juliana, Kieran is Archangel Michael in his human form. Archangels normally have the ability to change from angel to human, but since Jupiter sealed off Varathiel, angel magic is severely limited.
Kieran- Michael- has his own mission: Convince Lucifer to let go of his grudge against Jupiter and bring him back into the fold. We meet him as he is conducting reconnaissance at the same street corner where Juliana was almost killed. Something draws him to her. Is it only because he needs her to remember who she saw from her vantage point, or is it something deeper, something ancient?
The pair form a partnership, each convincing themself that they only need answers. But something begins to glimmer. A tiny seed of something they lost eons ago begins to grow. He falls first, although hesitant, and decides he isn’t interested in letting her go. She is still reeling from the emotional turmoil of PTSD and an identity crisis when she learns she may be a reincarnated Archeia. She wants to fall for him and let her wandering soul land into his patient, steady embrace, but she is afraid to tear down the walls she has convinced herself are the only way she can stay safe.
Tensions rise as the two embark on a journey to find answers. Where is Moriah? Why was she taken? Who keeps threatening Juliana? Is Juliana a reincarnated Archeia? What exactly does Lucifer want, and how can he be stopped? Are Faith and Juliana one and the same? Will Juliana and Kieran’s bond be strong enough to withstand the test of time?
